Obituary for Edyth Lorraine Davis

Edyth Lorraine Davis was called home to rest in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on April 23rd, 2019. Edyth was born in Windsor, Ontario on May 22nd, 1936. For 66 years, she was married to the only man she ever loved, Pastor Richard Hugh Davis, whom she married February 14th, 1953. This loving union produced 11 children. Edyth leaves behind her husband, Pastor Richard Hugh Davis, her children, Richard (Valerie), Randy (Shirley), Michele (Bill), Lorraine (Ryan), Janine, Tracy, Brenda (deceased 1965), Crystal, Danny (Stephanie), Janice, and Renee. Edyth was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Charlotte Harrison, her brother Henry Harrison, and her sisters Daisy Wright, Charlotte Tolson, and Marion Wilson. Edyth was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her church family from The Windsor House of Prayer.

Edyth had a special heart, especially for those who felt forgotten or felt alone. She could read your heart, even if you were a stranger, and knew exactly what you were going through. She had the compassionate heart of Christ. Whether you needed a word, a hug, a smile, something to eat, or a simple reminder that Jesus loves and cares for you, she would give everything she had to help. Though she suffered greatly with many ailments, she kept fighting.

Edyth was very talented with her arts and crafts. She wrote beautiful poetry, and she loved to knit, crochet, and tend to her garden. She loved to visit nursing homes, singing and spreading the Word of God. She was special, and we are all blessed that she was ours. We are all going to miss you, Ma. We love you.

Visiting on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a Home Going Celebration for Edyth on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Procession to Greenlawn Memorial Gardens for interment to follow.
