Life Story for Hector St. Pierre

Dad’s long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s dementia finally ended on May 9, 2019 at Iler Lodge in Essex.

He has found peace reunited with his beloved wife Margaret St. Pierre (nee Wilton, 2010). He will be remembered with love by his children Kathryn and Christopher Holmes, and Michael and Cristina St. Pierre. Hector took great joy as a proud Papa to Christian, Aaron, Jasper and Genevieve. He is predeceased by his parents Aldège and Antoinette (Quenneville) of Staples. Beloved brother of the late Albert St. Pierre (2009), the late Felice Tetreault (2013) and Rosaire Tetreault, the late Camille St. Pierre (2007) and Joy St. Pierre.

Hector was a dedicated educator for the Essex County Separate School Board as Special Education Coordinator. He spent time working for both the English and French boards throughout his many years of service and retired in 1994. Prior to his illness Hector enjoyed travelling, gardening, working in his woodshop and camping. Dad was a member of the St. Simon & Jude French choir for many years prior to his entry into Nursing Care.

We cannot thank enough the dedicated and caring staff at Iler Lodge where Dad was a resident for almost 9 years. The Iler staff always cared for our father in the most loving, capable and respectful way. The staff at Iler especially the James Brien and Douglas-Sadler home areas engaged Dad with tenderness and laughter and for that we will always be grateful.

If you so desire, donations to Alzheimer Society Windsor & Essex Co. or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.
