Unexpectedly rose to glory with his loving family by his side. Darling husband of Carolyn Campbell; precious son of Don and Fay Bates; dearest brother of Don (Michelle), and Matt (Corinna); beloved father and best friend of Ian (Sarah), Dave (Esther), Julia (Richard), Dan (Marian) and Matt (Tina); devoted grandpa to Belle, R.P., Warden, Nate, Ellie, and Susanna. Mark was looking forward to the spring arrival of two more grandsons. Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, his late nana and his dogs - Maggie and Bojangles.

Mark recently retired after teaching Communication Technology at LDSS, where he also served as OSSTF Branch President. He was a gifted and generous man who could do almost anything. Mark especially loved hockey and sailing. His calming disposition, sharp wit, and strong faith in Christ were valued by all who knew him.
