Passed away peacefully on April 27, 2019 at 88 years of age. Born in Windsor on July 8, 1930. Predeceased by his loving wife Leona (2016). Devoted dad to Toni (Don Thibert), the late Norman Muzzin (1973), Angela Muzzin, Mario Muzzin (Ella), Greg Muzzin, Chris Muzzin (Barb) and Lisa Sorrell (Mike). Cherished grandpa to Toni-Anne Toldo (David), Melanie Vitale (Joe), Andrea Yiannou (Peter), Chris Parent (Laura), Ryan, Kyle and Nicole Muzzin, Mackenzie and Lindsey Sorrell. Adoring great-grandfather of Adam, Jack, Noah, Zoey and Lucy, Dalia, Jonathan and Elona. Dear brother of the late Jack, the late Doris Tobin (2004), Joan Ouellette (Maurice), Edwin Smith (Faith) who affectionately called him Buck. Brother-in-law of Bea Drouillard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Proud retiree of Chrysler Canada (1979) and former caretaker of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in LaSalle for 20 years. Smitty was a champion homing pigeon racer with the Border Cities Flying Club and the Windsor Pigeon Club. His passion and dedication to this sport will be remembered by his children and grandchildren. He was a proud resident of LaSalle. He spent many hours tending to his vegetable and flower gardens where he loved to grow Seneca Chief sweet corn which he shared with everybody. Smitty was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and loved music.
