Smitty and Leona lived in brightness for many years at 1273 Reaume Road. You would know the house on Reaume
~ In winter , that huge evergreen would be decorated for Christmas the lights would be turned on at dusk and throw brightness everywhere. This is where I remember, or so it seemed, a tree being even bigger than the house .
You would know the house on Reaume
~. In the other seasons there were plants and shrubs , blossoms and blooms and a
welcome mat at the front door , the colors of Leona .
Leona was good with color and with keeping living things bright in this world .. When I met her at the Sears Store , she was caring for the plants and the fish , nurturing them all with foods and love within her store division job and loving to do so much for them there .. ...
When I got to know Smitty , he did the same : he made things bright in this world . He had the know- how with his family of birds . He was like Mr. Miracle GROW , making plants in the yard thrive there ... I gave him little plants and next thing I knew , they were huge along the wall of his shed ... I said ". How did you do that , Smitty ? ". and he would just grin at me ...
~ The pigeon coops :
You would know the coop toward the back field , long and low white buildings - the happiest place for Smitty's birds ~. their haven and Smittys second home ..
As a friend of Smitty and Leona , both of them always made me feel welcome there .....
I am thankful for those times we had. It was so good to know them . Others remember Smitty and Leona . I always will , too .. We were blessed ...
This is only a remembrance from a friend . I think of the tremendous loss that all the family is feeling
and I can only say that I am deeply sorry for your loss Love , Cathy K.
...To The Family ~
Sincere sympathy from Catherine Kemler
